John joined the Staff at Heritage in July of 2014.

John was born in Bristol, Connecticut, (home of ESPN), and was a part of a large Italian Catholic family.  After enjoying his childhood in the New England area, he and his family moved to Centerville, Ohio. During his senior year in high school he discovered there was something more to life than what he was living. It was then that he asked Jesus to forgive his sins, and that changed the course of his life.  After graduating high school he went to Sinclair Community College of Dayton, Ohio, and began to really serve the Lord in his local church and in the community.

He graduated with an Associates Degree in Communications and then took the year off to travel and preach the gospel.  He then decided to further his education, and two years later he graduated from Asbury University with a Bachelor in Bible and Theology.

Prior to working at Heritage he served as the youth pastor at Russell Road Church in Sidney Ohio. He has served in ministry close to twenty years in various churches and ministries across the nation and around the world. He has worked as a chaplain for juveniles, a youth leader for the Young Life organization, worked with international mission agencies and pastored. • Birthplace: Pensacola, FL
• Employed since: Winter 1991
• Children: Blake and his wife Jessica; Beth
• Education: B.S. East Texas Baptist College; Masters Asbury Theological Seminary, Orlando, FL

A native Floridian, Triss grew up in Pensacola where she received a wonderful foundation of faith and a strong vision for ministry. Her college years were spent at East Texas Baptist College in Marshall, Tex. Graduating in 1972, she began work as a house parent in children’s homes. “Without realizing it, those children taught me many life lessons that I have never forgotten,” Triss remembers.

Over the next several years she taught in public school enjoying those years of interaction with children, learning to see each one as an individual. Much of her work was with children who struggled in school. She enjoyed discovering ways to help them want to learn. During this time Triss was also fortunate enough to serve in several churches in various ministries affording me many experiences and new opportunities.

In 1992, Triss joined Heritage’s staff as Director of Children’s Ministries. Working in children’s ministry was the fulfillment of a calling Triss felt as a teenager. She later transitioned from children’s ministry to adult ministry and caregiving.

“As a family of faith, we seek to be community centered and to follow God’s vision for ministry. During my ten plus years in ministry here, each day is still exciting, challenging, and filled with blessings. I am honored to call Heritage home and to serve with such a caring, Christ-centered team.”
