As we reflect over the summer, we cannot help but be extremely grateful for the opportunity to be apart of such a wonderful ministry here at the Lighthouse. This summer, our Lighthouse family was able to minister and make a difference in the lives of others through our student’s volunteer work at Metropolitan Ministries, rebuilding a completely devastated home in Jacksonville with TeamEffort and reaching many children and families on our Bahamas Mission trip with Praying Pelican. (Click here for more information on our mission trips this summer.) We also took an awesome group of students to Big Stuf which is an incredible week of challenging teaching, engaging worship, focused discussions with their small groups and leaders and the opportunity to have a life-changing encounter with God on the beach at Panama City Beach! Two of our students made a decision that week to accept Christ into their hearts. Finally, our LiftOff trip to Fun Spot America and Cocoa Beach welcomed 27 incoming 6th and 7th graders and chaperones into our ministry! We are SO excited for this upcoming school year with these awesome kids. God had BIG plans for our Student Ministry!
We began the school year with our Kickoff for the entire family on August 11. We had Sonny’s Bar-b-que for dinner, played some crazy fun games, got messy, won prizes, worshipped together and learned what great things we have in store for our middle and high school students this year! Last night was our first Blitz and Impact. Jason kicked off his first four week series, World’s Apart…which discusses Science and Faith. What an awesome night!
This Friday we will be kicking off our Friday morning breakfast for all middle school students. Breakfast begins at 8:00 am with games and fun socialization time with their friends. Jason has a morning devotion and your students are served a hot breakfast for $2.00 before they head to school. We provide transportation to the following schools at this time: Safety Harbor Middle School, Dunedin Middle School and East Lake Middle School. If your student is interested and they attend a different middle school, please email Barb Galbraith at firstname.lastname@example.org and we will make arrangements for your student to get to school as well.
We are praying for each one of you as you start this new school year! Wishing our students and families many blessings! We are here to partner with you in raising your precious pre-teen and teenagers!Print This Post
