“One gives freely, yet grows all the richer; another withholds what he should give, and only suffers want. Whoever brings blessing will be enriched, and one who waters will himself be watered.”

Proverbs 11:24-25 (ESV)

Since the importance of serving others is illustrated throughout the Bible, the Lighthouse reserves two weeks of the summer to do mission trips: one domestic and one international. In the past, the Lighthouse has traveled internationally to places such as Costa Rica, the Bahamas, and Jamaica. The domestic trips have been to Georgia, Tennessee, North Carolina, and several other places.

These mission trips provide students with hands-on experiences that allow them to show the love of Christ in practical ways. We believe that as Christians, we are all called to be the hands and feet of Jesus, and these mission trips are great opportunities to step into that calling.

These trips give students the chance to work for communities that may be underdeveloped or have specific needs in a particular area. These opportunities can include doing service projects, working with the children and the elderly, or helping out with events that are organized by the church.

In addition, the students will participate in devotionals throughout the week with the rest of the team so that not only will they learn and grow in their relationship with Christ, they can also do it together.
